What is an Inverted Roof?

In an inverted roof construction the Sika-Trocal membrane is installed directly to the structural decking (usually concrete) and the INNObond thermal insulation is installed on top of the membrane. Then  Aquazone® a high performance non-woven polyethylene membrane is installed over the insulation to minimise the cooling effect associated with rainwater flowing down through the insulation and draining away. It can significantly reduce the insulation thickness. A vapour control layer is not required.

This type of roof is generally used where there is going to be paving require as in a roof terrace for example.

Sika-Trocal carry out thermal and condensation risk analysis for every project. Furthermore a bespoke designed system eliminates any performance and design issues.
